Meet Our New Venue-Partner - Kibbitznest Books, Brews & Blarney
Last weekend Art Room Events Dil Pickle Club was hosted for the first time at Kibbitznest Books, Brews & Blarney, "where old-fashioned human communication is KING".
Kibbitznest Books, Brews & Blarney is a wifi-free zone, focusing on creating a space where people really talk to one another, face to face. Vintage bookcases line the walls, comfortable chairs and tables, fine wine and cocktails, board games, piano, vinyl records, and vintage typewriters make this place one of Chicagoans' new favorites spot.
The cozy ambience, high ceilings, and beautiful light brick walls inspired us on partnering with Kibbitznest and host our signature Dil Pickle Club Speakeasy Murder Mystery cocktail party here on January 26th. Thirty two guests dressed in 1920's bohemian fashion attended Dil Pickle Club on Friday night. Guests could only enter the club by providing the secret password at the door and knowing their characters names that were provided to each guests prior to the game. Welcoming speech was given by Clarence Stuart, the lawyer at approximately 7:00 pm and followed by the two and a half hours of interactive speakeasy murder mystery game, craft cocktails, blues music, and non-stop fun.
Each guest had some information, secrets, pieces of evidence, and an opportunity to make money. Helen Benson and Detective Sterling were leading the murder investigation and were taking mug shots of the main suspects. At the end of the game all guests got a chance to review the evidence, suspect board, and nominate the main suspect, as well as to vote for The Best Actor/Actress, The Best Dressed Guest and The Richest Person of the night. Award certificates and gifts were provided to the winners.
